
Diamond dressing tools are a very important part of our business
here at Neuber. We make tools for a wide variety of dressing applications and
have included many standard tools in our catalog.
Special tools to your specifications are quoted at your request.
Many years of experience have gone into developing procedures for making quality
tools for applications like; straight dressing, radius and form dressing, and offhand dressing.
Different grinding wheel materials and specs require different dressers.
Whether you are working with silicon carbide, aluminum oxide or SG type grinding wheels,
we have the right tool for the job made from one of the basic diamond types listed below.
BASIC DIAMOND TYPES
Octahedron
Eight sides with up to 6 usable points. Used for single points, clusters and radius tools.
Dodecahedron
Twelve sides with up to eight usable points. Used for cluster and radius tools.
Crystals
Sharply defined Octahedron. Up to 6 usable points and generally used for thread grinding tools.
Points
These are long and cigar shaped. About three times as long as wide. Best for cones and radius dressers.
Elongated
Very similar to points, but about two times as long as wide. Used for making cones, chisels, clusters, blade tools and some radius tools.
Maacles
A flat, triangular shaped twinned Crystal with up to three usable points. Excellent for chisels and radius tools.
Ballas
Round shape with no well defined cleavage planes. One of the toughest diamonds available for very coarse dressing where fine finishes are not required. Appropriate for large wheels that are 36 grit and coarser.
